Ivan Wang

Brisbane

Ivan completed a degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management at the University of Queensland (UQ). During his time there, he served as the Chairperson of the Pacific Asia Travel Association Australia UQ Student Chapter. After graduating, Ivan took on the role of Marketing and Public Relations Executive at Conrad Hangzhou. His responsibilities included creating marketing strategies to boost the hotel's brand visibility, resulting in the hotel winning 20 awards. Ivan also managed public relations events and online customer relationships.

In early 2022, Ivan returned to Brisbane and became the Head of Marketing and Public Relations for Vacayit. Recognising the challenges faced by travellers with disability, Vacayit is changing how the world promotes destinations by offering accessible and immersive audio experiences. These experiences provide detailed descriptions of the sensory aspects, connecting travellers with destinations.

Ivan's job involves executing marketing strategies, managing voice-over production, and coordinating the publication of 250 audio guides in Australia. He also played a key role in developing the web version of the app to make it more accessible. Ivan collaborates with tourism operators across Australia, helping them find innovative ways to improve visitor experiences while focusing on accessibility and sustainability.
