Liana Jones

Brisbane

Liana’s passion for travel began during a school exchange program to Japan, inspiring her to pursue studies in tourism through high school and at university. Her studies set the foundation for a career in tourism, and Liana now has ten years in the industry both in Australia and overseas.

Following high school, Liana studied a Bachelor of Business, majoring in International Tourism and Hotel Management and minoring in Event Management. Her first role in the industry was with Con-X-ion Airport Transfers as the business development manager, which entailed managing marketing campaigns and developing new business partnerships. Liana then moved to marketing roles in Tourism and Events Queensland, initially as the partnerships specialist - outback and country Queensland, then as the senior advisor for international and western markets.

In 2019, Liana spent the two years in Canada in a variety of roles including bartender, guest services agent, reservations coordinator, administrator and receptionist.

Returning to Queensland in 2021, Liana joined Mackay Isaac Tourism where she developed new tourism products and experiences for the region. In 2022, Liana became the membership and events services advisor with Brisbane Economic Development Agency where she provides support to members to ensure they are optimising their membership benefits and assists in the coordination of tradeshows, events and client experience programs.
