Born in Croatia, raised in New Zealand and now residing on the Gold Coast, Karla has carved out an exciting career in marketing iconic tourism experiences.
After completing a business degree majoring in marketing, Karla started her career in a social media role with a major online surfing fashion company but then quickly found her feet in the tourism industry. As a digital channel manager for Village Roadshow Theme Parks, Karla was responsible for strategy, content creation and audience management for the social channels of seven leisure brands. Next, she joined MTA Travel as a social media specialist before doing a short stint in marketing roles outside tourism, but Karla quickly returned to the industry after realising she missed the exciting career opportunities that tourism offers. She then joined Dreamworld, WhiteWater World and SkyPoint – three of Queensland’s iconic tourism visitor attractions – where she progressed through numerous marketing roles to become the Marketing, Sales and Digital Director.
Karla’s current role is Head of Marketing for Ingenia Holiday Parks where she is responsible for the marketing strategy, media budget and brand direction for 40+ holiday parks down Australia’s east coast and leading a multi-functional marketing team to strive for revenue growth.
