Inspiring young Queenslanders to work and find success in the tourism industry

Georgie Arnold

Townsville

Growing up in the aviation/tourism industry, Georgie dreamed of becoming a commercial helicopter pilot since she was young. After completing high school, she followed her dream and attained her pilot’s licence at the age of 19.

Georgie is now a charter pilot and the social media marketing manager for Townsville Helicopters. As a pilot, Georgie takes visitors on a range of exciting experiences in the region from fishing adventures, city scenic tours, tropical escapes, outback and island retreats to helicopter tours to celebrate special occasions. Georgie also manages the company’s social media and actively promotes the region’s diverse tourism experiences for scenic flights and tours. She enjoys creating and delivering new tourism experiences and giving people a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Queensland from a new perspective.

Georgie is passionate about educating and encouraging more women to pursue a career in the aviation industry. Through Townsville Helicopters’ sister company, Aviatrix Australia, Georgie shares her message with prospective pilots through school talks, participating in career expos and delivering speeches at industry forums. She also uses social media to promote the career stories of female pilots around Australia and organises professional networking events to connect females in the industry.

Georgie is a strong ambassador for women in aviation and is a trailblazer for inspiring the next generation of pilots.
