Having always been a sporty and outdoors person, Julian has combined this with developing an exciting career in adventure tourism that has taken him around the world.
After studying a degree in Outdoor Education in 2015 in Bendigo, Julian moved back home to throw himself into the outdoor education and adventure industry. Starting off as a freelancer, working chiefly at Adventure Alternatives in Woodford and the Barrington Outdoor Education Centre in NSW, Julian delivered curriculum programs for students aged 6-16 years in adventure activities including rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, sustainability and bush skills.
Julian then had the opportunity to join Antipodeans Abroad as an Expedition Leader guiding groups of 15-18 year-olds on expeditions through Tanzania, Borneo and Vietnam and developing their qualities of leadership and resilience.
In Brisbane, Julian first joined Riverlife Adventure Centre as an Adventure Instructor where he gave local and international visitors the opportunity to experience kayaking, rock climbing and abseiling at the Kangaroo Point cliffs as well as segway tours and leading climbs with Story Bridge Adventure Climb. In 2017, a move to Japan saw Julian work for an adventure tour company leading white water rafting and canyoning experiences.
After two years trying something different in the London property sector, Julian returned to Brisbane in 2021 re-joining Riverlife as the Adventure Manager where he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Riverlife Adventure Centre and the Walkabout Creek Adventure Centre.
