Passionate about the diverse destinations Queensland has to offer, Eric has carved out a successful career in hospitality management as the manager of a range of successful bars, restaurants and event venues across Queensland.
Eric started in the hospitality industry straight from high school at a restaurant in Townsville where he learnt all aspects of the business and was promoted to Assistant Manager. Moving to another restaurant provided Eric with experience in fine dining where he developed an understanding of the expectations of service and enhanced his knowledge of flavors in the kitchen.
This provided the basis for Eric’s next step up to the role of Restaurant Manager overseeing a team and the day-to-day operations as well as running a separate entity focused on high-end conferences and events. Relocating to Cairns to further his career, Eric became the Manager of an award-winning hospitality venue consisting of a fine-dining restaurant, two bars and live event space.
Taking on a career change to try something different, Eric established himself as a successful real estate agent in Cairns where he further developed his communication, negotiation and customer relationship-building skills.
After two years in real estate, Eric returned to the profession he’s passionate about and became the Manager of numerous hospitality venues in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. In 2021, Eric moved to the newly-opened JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa where, as the Bar Supervisor, he oversees service delivery, financial performance, event planning and manages a highly motivated team.
